They look like mini mealworms, but are so much better. They wiggle a LOT more, are softer bodied, have superior moisture retention, are a high protein low fat option making them an excellent staple feeder, and they grow faster than mealworms too. They are also the PERFECT size for juvenile jumpers up to adults (though adults may need more than one).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBest of all? Once you have a culture going you will never have to order feeders again. The culture can be kept producing indefinitely with minimal effort. Cultures last months before needing any sort of maintenance, and are easy to split or reset too.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou may know over the years I have been a big advocate of mini mealworms. I have still been recommending them because they are easy to find, but I personally haven't purchased mealworms in a LONG time. I have fully switched over to the peanut beetle larvae, and I won't be going back. My spiders now eat faster, have fewer mismolts, and it's easier on me since the peanut beetle larvae are always readily available and there is no worry of spood injury. The juveniles I re-home also seem to be less picky, and transfer over to eating other worms easily. I have been using PBL for over a year now and I only have positives to say about them. They are not a fad or something I stumbled onto recently.
